The front desk that answers
at 2 a.m. and at 10 a.m.

A hospital phone rings all day with the same questions: which day does the gynaecologist sit, what time does OPD open, where is the emergency ward, how much is a bed. TalkC's AI answers them in natural Nepali from your own schedules, takes callback requests for everything else, and keeps your reception staff free for the patient standing in front of them.

What callers ask

What patients and families call about

The AI is trained on exactly these, from your own documents and your staff's answers.

OPD timings and ticket counters

Opening hours, which counter, how early to come, holiday OPD.

Doctor availability

Which days a consultant sits, morning or evening, how to get an appointment.

Emergency and ambulance

Always transferred immediately to the emergency desk; ambulance numbers read out.

Bed charges and free beds

General, cabin and ICU charges, the free-bed quota for the poor and how to qualify.

Reports and results

When a report is ready, where to collect, whether it can be sent on WhatsApp.

Directions and parking

Landmarks, gate numbers, where the pharmacy is, visiting hours.

Services and packages

Health check-up packages, vaccination days, physiotherapy, dialysis slots.

Insurance and schemes

Which government and private schemes are accepted, documents needed.

Complaints and feedback

Logged with a reference number and routed to the administrator.

Inbound and outbound, one system

Inbound: the AI answers

  • ✓

    Schedules from your own roster

Doctor days, OPD hours and department timings come from a roster your staff update in the dashboard. Change it once; the AI says the new time on the next call.

  • ✓

    Department directory with warm transfer

Billing, lab, pharmacy, wards: the AI dials the department and connects only when someone picks up, then resumes if nobody does.

  • ✓

    Emergency rule

Anything that sounds like an emergency is transferred at once, never handled by the AI.

  • ✓

    Callback tickets for appointments

The AI takes the patient's name, doctor and preferred time and creates a ticket for the appointment desk, so there is no double-booking without integration.

  • ✓

Overflow when the desk is busy

Reception rings first; when the line is busy or it is after hours, the AI picks up so nobody gets a busy tone.

Outbound: the AI calls

  • ✓

    Appointment reminders

Calls the day before, confirms or offers to reschedule, logs the answer for the desk.

  • ✓

    Post-discharge check-ins

Scripted questions on recovery and medicines; anything worrying is flagged to a nurse with the recording.

  • ✓

    Report-ready and follow-up calls

Tells patients when results are ready or a follow-up is due.

  • ✓

    Camps and vaccination drives

Announces dates to the right list and takes bookings.

Beyond calls

From reception to patient follow-up

Most clients start with the phone line. The same AI then takes over the rest of the process.

Hospital system integration

With your HMS connected, the AI can read appointment slots and book directly. Scoped and quoted per hospital.

🚑

Emergency and referral directories

We maintain a national directory of 349 hospitals, 15 blood banks and 11 ambulance services with district-aware search; your AI can use it for referrals.

💊

Medicine information

Our drug-information line looks up 10,077 medicine brands and 1,225 generics by voice. The same lookup can answer pharmacy-counter calls.

📊

Call analytics for administration

Which departments get the most calls, when, and how callers felt. Weekly, from the dashboard.

Proof

What we have run in healthcare

Our AI has run the phone line of a maternity and women's hospital in Kathmandu as a pilot, answering department schedules, services and directions from the hospital's own FAQ and documents (a 129-chunk knowledge base with 57 contacts), and logging callback requests as tickets. It has also answered a private hospital's line. Read the pilot notes →

Separately, we operate a national drug-information line whose AI looks up 10,077 medicine brands and 1,225 generics, finds the nearest of 349 hospitals, and reads out blood-bank and ambulance numbers. Case study →

Rules we apply in every healthcare deployment: no medical advice, emergencies transferred immediately, schedules only from the hospital's roster, and no invented numbers.

Deployment

What we build it from

Knowledge base sources

  • ✓Doctor roster and OPD schedule (editable from the dashboard)
  • ✓Department directory with extensions and hours
  • ✓Service list, package prices, bed charges and the free-bed policy
  • ✓Hospital FAQ, scanned if needed; we run OCR on PDFs
  • ✓Directions, parking, visiting rules
  • ✓Accepted insurance and government schemes

You edit the knowledge base and directory from the dashboard; we tune answers from real calls every week.

Patient safety and privacy rules

  • No medical advice. The AI gives information from your documents only; symptoms are routed to the emergency desk or a call-back.
  • Emergencies first. Immediate transfer, no questions.
  • Patient data stays in Nepal. Numbers, recordings and tickets are stored in-country, access is role-based.
  • Nothing invented. If a schedule is not in the roster, the AI says so and offers a call-back.
Questions

What hospital administrators ask

Will the AI give medical advice?+

No. It answers from your documents only: schedules, services, charges, directions. Symptoms are transferred to the emergency desk or logged for a nurse to call back.

How do we update doctor schedules?+

From the dashboard. The roster is a table your staff edit; the AI reads it live on every call.

Can it book appointments into our system?+

Yes with an integration to your hospital management system, which we scope per hospital. Without it, the AI takes the details and creates a ticket for the appointment desk.

We have several branches or clinics.+

One number or several; the AI knows each branch's schedule and contacts and routes accordingly.

Is patient data safe?+

Numbers, recordings, transcripts and tickets are stored in Nepal with role-based access. Live speech is processed on secured infrastructure outside Nepal, which we disclose in writing; on-premise deployment is available.
